As you can guess, nothing is free. Here in the North Bay there are mold remediation companies offering free mold testing, and even offering to pay you to let them test.
These companies are violating the code of ethics of their industry. Mold remediation companies are excluded from conducting mold inspections and testing for obvious reasons. They often find mold problems that are not there, or over generalize the problems.All so they can charge you more money, than you need to spend on your mold problem, if you even have one.
Note also, you often do not need any mold testing, to determine the cause of your indoor air quality problem. It is recommended that you have a comprehensive mold inspection; rather than testing.
